Kruisrivier Varsprodukte (krvp), originally founded by Christo Rens in 1984 as a local fruit and vegetable farmers market in the town of Uitenhage, where the Rens family farmed for over 200 years in the Kruisrivier area. In 1989 Christo expanded the families farming operation in the Sunday River Valley where he farmed with vegetables and citrus. It was during this time Christo realised the potential and practised marketing of his own vegetables.

krvp began trading in 2004 as a citrus and vegetables wholesale distributor and grew gradually over the years, streamlining operations to mitigate risk for all stakeholders within the value chain of krvp’s daily business, allowing krvp to focus on delivering the best quality.
